The LILBECKKING DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION (LIBEDEF). A leading Non-Governmental Organization championing sustainable development in Nigeria, in collaboration with Urban Movement Innovation Fund / Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, recently conducted a vital community outreach program highlighting the health advantages of transitioning to clean, renewable energy sources. Targeting a predominantly female and child audience, the initiative aimed to empower local residents with knowledge and inspiration to become advocates for eco-friendly power solutions.
The outreach event took place in a underserved community (OGHEDE) where access to reliable electricity and education on environmental health issues remain limited.
LIBEDEF’s team of experts led interactive discussions and presentations, explaining how clean energy can improve air quality, enable better sanitation and healthcare, and positively impact overall community wellness.
Attendees, including mothers, community health workers and young children, expressed enthusiasm and appreciation for learning about these life-changing benefits. Many shared personal stories of the hardships caused by energy poverty and pollution.
Through this initiative, the LILBECKKING DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION reinforced its commitment to centering the needs of vulnerable populations in its sustainable development work. Equipping women and children with knowledge is seen as a critical step toward catalyzing grassroots clean energy adoption.
